Many thanks to John Klima (whose Logorrhea: Good Words Make Good Stories was just released), who very kindly sent me this picture of a Pyr end cap display in a Borders in Davenport, IA. The books displayed are – from top to bottom: Kay Kenyon’s Bright of the Sky, Joel Shepherd’s Breakawayand Crossover, my own Fast Forward 1, and Justina Robson’s Keeping It Real.

One week earlier (when I didn’t have a camera with me) they also had copies of Ian McDonald’s BRASYL.
Always good to hear that. Now, can somebody steal me that sign when the promo ends next week.
(I am kidding about that!)
That must be heaven for an up and coming publisher, Lou.
I picked up Bright of the Sky, but it probably will wait until after a long driving/camping trip I am taking. Worst comes to worst it will be airplane reading material for a flight at the end of June.
The tipping point in buying it, beyond the two strong hits from Pyr thus far I’ve read (Paragaea and Keeping it Real) was finding my copy of World of Tiers…and reminiscing about it.
Hi Paul,
Both Bright and Paragaea take place in pocket universes peopled with lots of original aliens and cultures, but those three books describe a pretty broad range. If you like them all, you’ll probably like almost everything we publish. Maybe Joel Shepherd next or Keith Brooke’s Genetopia?
There was a similar display at the Borders on Michigan & Chicago (I think it is) in Chicago when I was there a few weeks ago! w00t!
Hi Peter,
Thanks VERY much for letting me know! That’s great.
